I don't think this has been posted. It's on the Nickel Plate in West Wayne Yard, Ft. Wayne, looking west on the passenger main. The crossing track is Ft. Wayne & Jackson. It looks like crew-change time.

Neat Pic ! Any idea of the year this might have been ?

East Wayne was opened in 1951, so before then. Is it early-1940s?
This one shows demolition of West Wayne's roundhouse. Some demo was in 1951, but I was told that it extended through at least 1954.

Passenger trains were pulled off the GR&I just over 55 years ago last month. What did the Northern Arrow consist of ? Have any photo's of a Northern Arrow ? By what I have seen it looked like there were more passenger trains on the GR&I than freight ? When did West Wayne finally lose all of it's tracks ? There is a bridge over the river on the east end of West Wayne. How many tracks crossed the bridge when the yard was in ? Thanks for posting the West Wayne photo..

The attached 1964 aerial is grainy, but you can see that there was still a lot of track on the ground then.
Two tracks crossed the St. Marys River freight bridge, and one crossed the passenger bridge, which was closer to Main St. and is gone. I don't know the date of this map.
I've never seen a photo of the Northern Arrow and don't know its history.
