Started up about 2-3 months ago and was being watched by the big boys including Mr Manion as it was the hottest train on the railroad. In what I think was its first week on the NCD, a train stalled at Campbellstown trying to clear for it and you guessed it, the 295 had to cut away from its train, drag this guy in, couple back on and go. Never heard if any heads rolled on this one, but I'm sure the dispatchers were sweating bullets as well as some others!!

295 is a Chicago to Danville (Kentucky) intermodal. Haven't had to meet him in any sidings recently, but as I recall he's primarily a double stacker and usually a 6,000-8,000 footer.

When does it hit the New Castle District? I don't recall seeing or hearing it go by.

295 originates at the NS yard on 63rd Street (Englewood) at 6pm each day and usually gets into the Fort between 11pm and midnight. My guess is he's a replacement for the 25A which I haven't seen for awhile.

I haven't seen 25A for a while either. Apparently, 295 goes by me well past my bedtime.

The 295 does seem to have replaced the 25A and runs about 12 hours later that 25A did. It runs thru Valpo around 7-8pm.

Didnt know it originated in Englewood. Is the routing via the IHB at East Chicago to Osborn?

295 just went by Hibbard at 11:14 pm July 8, maybe running a little later because of tie work west of Knox.

Does 295 have a Northbound counterpart? This morning I saw a 245 go past the house. Through the fog it looked like a single C40-9W and a short-to-medium length stack train. AFAIK this is a new train or have I been out of town too much?

Just saw I5A (25A's extra) at Yoder around 4pm.
