Richmond Indiana C&O & PRR

Post by Notch 8 » Tue Dec 17, 2019 4:47 pm

Richmond, Ind. Year: 1980. Photographer: David Oroszi. The N&W train is westbound toward New Castle, Ind., on an ex-PRR line acquired by N&W in 1976. The Chessie train is southbound toward Cottage Grove, Ind., on the C&O line. Interchange track visible on the right. CSX offered the Richmond track to NS and they passed..

That low-bridge was responsible for turning a load of cars into convertables on a C&O train or two.

That same C&O line barely scrapped under the Big Four main in Muncie too if I recall. Was notched into a ditch to get clearance, that made it flood prone from nearby White River (next to E Jackson st)

...CSX offered the line to NS.....
Between which endpoints would NS use this line? All the way Cindy-Chi-town?
