PRR MILEPOST

"If the posts are triangular, about 12 in. on each side and stand about 4 ft. tall, they are mileposts or whistle posts."

Said Craig Berndt in the GR&I post.

I wonder who got the MP320 on the Fort Wayne Line.

Thanks

Mark

High Mark, I have never seen a PRR whistle in the shape you describe, if you have any pics of them I would like to see them. I know they used the triangle post also for Division post, County line post and Stateline post as well as the milepost. Here are a few pics of the one and a few other cast iron goodies I own. Thanks, Ken 8)

Hey Ken,that was Craig's description.
Your milepost came from Ohio.

The 320 post was south of the tracks at the Baker St. station.
It disappeared sometime after the line was single tracked.
It was replaced with a modern " road sign" post.
I wonder who took it and who has the post.

Thanks for the photos

Mark

Thanks Mark and sorry for the mix up, However got the 320 mile marker had to have a strong back as these things weight a ton! I've always wondered about who got all the station and tower signs and the modelboards myself. Ken 8)

At present I have no photo of the post.

When I return to FTW some time in last part of March
I will photograph the whistle post and post it on list.

Thanks for your interest.
