I'd like to see how a ballast regulator would handle that pile, too. I'm thinking someone screwed up here.

Well quite a bit has happened in the last week at the site. Here's this weeks update. Ken 8)

You can start to see the rails now.

If you look behind the ties and that pile of stone you will see some rails laying on some ties. These sections are being welded together so that there are no joints over the new bridge.

Some time during the week the replaced the active side of the bridge deck. Here the crew is putting the finishing touches to the reinstalled track. Note the new bridge deck on the right side of the track.

Another view of the field welds. The diamond is supposed to be installed this upcoming week. There still waiting on the timbers for it though. Once there onsite the old diamond will be removed and the area will be excavated. Once this is done a layer of asphalt base will be put down, then the new timbers and diamond will be installed on top of it.

I drove buy the site today and much to my surprise most of the track equipment has disappeared. The only
things I saw was the track hoe at the diamond, ballast regulator and a front end loader. The Diamond has yet to be replaced which if there going to lay down an asphalt base the clocks ticking at the batch plant. There's still no timbers onsite for it. The welded rail hasn't been laid over the new bridge. Nor has the bumping post been installed. I do have a few pictures to ad though. Ken 8)

Ken, the company doing the work for the supersite trackage has been let go. They did something they shouldn't have to get their work done down by the diamond. Was a major infraction they should have contacted the railroad [CF&E]. But they didn't. Most of the work is done as you know, but there is still some to be done. The city is supposed to get someone to finish the work and G&W/CF&E said they would help in the search. Don't know the timetable, but you would think it would behoove them to get it done. Plus, get the new diamond done to remove the slow order through town.
