What Year ?

Postby Notch 8 » Sat Nov 12, 2016 6:12 pm

Its a somber feeling to know what use to happen on this spot and to have been able to step back in time 40-60 years ago. This would have been a busy place indeed. I believe the point i'm standing was where the Pennsylvania Railroad operated their Trailer Service at. Not sure where they iced the reefers. Was there 4 humps at Piqua at one time ? Anyhow a lot of s*** has happened here and slowly its fading away....

One Sumit Square in the background opened in 1982 so it's no earlier than that.

Those appear to be CF&E locos. They began ops in 2004; Sept. 1st I think.

I thought you were all wet at first as the CF&E engines were a distinctive bright red and dark gray paint scheme with a stripe between them and I was sure that was a single color, but when I looked at my CF&E pictures and found this photo of #3886, I have to agree with you. The B&W photo rendered those 2 colors almost the same.

Yes, it has to be 2004 or later.
