Weather delays

Post by rrnut282 » Wed Feb 21, 2007 8:43 am

Last week with all the snow, crews were not making it to the terminal and the crew vans were even slower. Today you can't see the signal 50 ft away. With the rule that you have to be able to stop in 1/2 of your maximum vision, nobody will be running track speed this morning. Expect to see a lot of dead trains today.

Not to mention the reroutes because of
the derailments in Goshen this noon.

I heard the dispatcher on the NCD tell L69 that they would get to work only a couple of industries and then it was "straight to Muncie, before things get ugly." Fortunately, the fog lifted early enough that I didn't notice that many out-lawed trains.

Back to "hurry up and wait"

Finally things are close to schedule out here on the east end. Not much moving in town today. Noticed "special" was tied up at NH E this weekend.
