NS 288 is a "as needed" train from Atlanta, "usually" dies at the Toyota yard in Georgetown KY, but will run on North when they have enough traffic. They are using it to move a lot of the 132 traffic, as 132 is now abolished.

Where did 132 run to/from? I don't think I've ever run across it.

new rack train

Post by rrnut282 » Fri Apr 13, 2007 7:43 am

I've been hearing/seeing a "new" rack train 23V going North on the NCD. One time L90 met it at MIKE to take the train to Roanoke. It looks a lot like the old M96 they used to run every once in a while.

At the same time I have not seen 276 which had racks and hi-cubes that ran north on the NCD and headed to Fostoria. Has anyone seen/heard 276 lately, or was it discontinued about the same time as 277 on the Huntington district?

:?: Anyone hear anything about the rack trains out to the GM plant? Has the strike affected the operations back and forth from E Wayne? Are there racks stacked up on the Wabby? Hope it doesn't last too long!

Yeah, GM and the UAW have already reached a TA,
and everyone's back to work while the rank-and-file
considers it.

No one on Wall Street ever thought this would be a
long strike--each side has something the other
side wants, and this is the stuff of which agreements
are formed. UAW wants job security guarantees, and
GM wants a substantial portion of future benefit
liabilities taken over by a trust to be administered
by the union.

This brief stoppage never got close to jamming the
pipeline up.
