Rain just makes for crappy railfanning. Not to mention it's a lot more "fun" driving in the snow than in the rain.
You saying I wasn't having any fun standing under an umbrella in a down pour taking a shoot at a train? jett37 :D

Take a hike down to the tracks!
I was going to watch trains this
afternoon. But, didn't go because of the
wet gloom enveloping everything,
including me. Two weeks ago I worked
at Paulding. I went through Woodhen. #7
wasn't there. Also nosed around LaFarge.
There were rail cars there, but no sharks
anymore.

No hens left in WDB

I'm a biker, not a hiker! I do ride up and see the 5th when everything is nice out. BTW, sunshining and nice out now. Can see everything just fine.

Lovely pair

Post by D.L. » Thu Jan 11, 2007 4:30 pm

Anyone else see that CN-IC pair at E. Wayne today? I think that's off the train that runs from IC to Bellevue.

Slo day

Post by D.L. » Tue Jan 30, 2007 4:14 pm

Everything runnin' about 1-2 hrs. behind today. WB stopped (GMer) on the track right now as I post this. Been there for about 15 min. as of now. Not sure why its stopped, haven't seen this kind of backup for a long time.

MW on Fostoria?

Post by D.L. » Tue Feb 20, 2007 3:17 pm

Seems to be slo orders on the Fostoria today. Anyone know if they are working on the tracks? Trains are running at a heavy volume, but are only creeping along.

Fat City Day

Post by D.L. » Wed Feb 28, 2007 4:14 pm

Things are BOOMING on the line today. Detours, detours. Spoke to a "special" crew member in town today, and he told me the trains are coming off the Central. They had a huge train to take back into the yard after picking up a huge cut of MAW's grainers. Who would think of little ole "Woodhen" as such a railroad dynamo??? Do I live in the right place or what? (Put that in your pipe Markedup and M.M. and smoke it!)

I train watched at NE this afternoon with L.R.
He had been in Antwerp.
Said #7 was working there.
Why put Woodburn in quotes?

Back in the saddle again

Post by D.L. » Thu Mar 01, 2007 4:22 pm

Go to see that our favorite cameraman is out and about again. Hey Markedup, got any pix of the detours? Lots of foreign power running yesterday. BTW, #7 is back in WDB now w/a cut of grainers. Did you happen to see L91 w/all those grainers yesterday come back into the yard??? 8)

Like Friday instead of Thursday on Fostoria today

Post by D.L. » Thu Dec 20, 2007 4:24 pm

 Today was like a Friday on the Fostoria Div instead of a Thursday (which is usually quite quiet) w/the trains running in both directions. Unlike our liitle sleepy town of Woodhen, where the tracks lie in stillness w/the snow covering them and #7 lazily idling away in peace on the passing track!

Holiday Boom

8) Even busier today than yesterday. We might be seeing some detours from the derailment in Burns Harbor, but am not sure about that.

Re: Fostoria problem

Post by D.L. » Thu Jan 10, 2008 4:32 pm

 An E bound train has stopped just E of S.R. 101 crossing on the Fostoria this afternoon/evening. I have never seen a train stop there before going E bound. Appears to be a GMer. Don't know what the problem is for sure. The track has been very busy all day. Not sure what is going on.

:?: Does anyone know if the CSX meltdown @ Fostoria oHIo is still affecting the NS traffic on the Fostoria div today? Track seems very quite, haven't seen anything movin' at all today.
