New Train on the Huntington

Post by joemcspadden » Sat May 17, 2008 11:13 am

Well, after all this time, it seems we have a new train--the 114. It appears to run on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Its destination is Oakwood Yard in Detroit. I don't know where it originates. Its consist is somewhat similar to that
of the 122--lots of NS, GTW, and CN hi-cubes, etc. Sometimes it has CN power.

For years, this symbol was used for a train between Shelbyville KY and Kansas City. That train must have been
annulled, thus freeing up the symbol for this brand new train (it's been running for about a month now).

I thought I heard that last week. I didn't recognize the number, so I chalked it up to guessing through the static.

The 114 originated out of Decatur and made a pickup at Roanoke before going up to Oakwood Yard in Detroit. Not sure if he picked up each time you heard him, but that's the scoop. Like you said, he does seem to be very infrequent.
