Really enjoyed your article in the May 2018 issue of Trains magazine.

I'd imagine there are numerous "not so fun" jobs required by each event. Making sure that there's coal when and where you need it, not to mention that you really can't just bop into your local Handy-Dandy with a garden hose and "borrow" 20,000 gallons of water.

Hey, just saw this. Thank you! The article wound up being more timely than I could have hoped with all the Amtrak changes. Appreciate it.
Re: Kelly Lynch
Regarding that, were you folks utilizing Amtrak personnel for the roundtrips you made to Lafayette a few years ago? Seems like there would be no Amtrak engineers qualified in that territory is why I ask.nathansixchime wrote: ↑Thu May 31, 2018 12:02 pmmore timely than I could have hoped with all the Amtrak changes.

Re: Kelly Lynch
We've actually never operated an Amtrak charter. Our only Amtrak moves have been coordinating the delivery of passenger cars. The Cannonball trips you mention were crewed by NS employees and our folks.
