Eastbound Wabash train No. 6 on the ground at Edon OH

(1909): Eastbound Wabash train No. 6, traveling at about 50 miles per hour, derailed east of Edon about 8 p.m. on May 2, 1909. A turned switch point threw the tender's trucks off the rails, breaking the coupling between the tender and the engine. The engine remained on the tracks but the tender over...

Re: DOTX 2000 on the Indiana Northeastern finally repainted

Where is the reporting mark? Why does FRA own a locomotive that it has leased to INER for a decade? Craig I'm guessing that the reporting marks had not been applied just yet. Unit is owned by the Department of Transportation and is used to test appliances and components on an active locomotive bein...

Which paint scheme dose it have now, the one on flickr or the one on
your post attachment?

RD
It was just painted into the NKP scheme. Now DOTX No. 2000 matches the other power on the Indiana Northeastern Railroad.

Re: Buckhorn Plastics/Bluffton IN

There was an item in the local newspaper this week that 20/20 had applied for TIF for some equipment. New equipment needs raw materials, so it could be good news for Wabash Central. The main facility is on the Toll road north of Montpelier OH and the growth has exploded over the last couple years. ...

Re: ND&W 105 at Cecil Ohio

Where do the tomato paste cars originate? Craig I will ask the ND&W Crew when I see them again, I always thought they came from the west coast but by what i'm seeing if looks to be warehoused in multiple locations throughout the US KENCO Logistics is a big player in this. Interesting tidbit of info...

Re: Penn-Central questions

The Pan-handle line thru Logansport was why I said *some* Cincy-Chicago *might* have come via Fort Wayne. I find it hard to believe there was much room for freight with 100 pax trains thru Fort Wayne. (a number I heard, can't vouch for its accuracy) So how close to a 100 passenger trains passed thr...

Re: Penn-Central questions

This board has been pretty dead the last year or so, so hopefully no one will mind if I ask a couple somewhat nonsense questions about PennCentral back in the day. 1. Back when PRR and/or Penn Central operated their legacy lines through the Fort, was there ever much (regular) traffic between Cincin...
