Re: Bob's Fort Wayne area photo of the week

Continuing our recent GR&I coverage, here is a shot from February as the local enters the switch at West Wayne and prepares to run up the GR&I with some salt hoppers that they just pulled out of the old FW&J line spur. So would this been the southern most part of the Ft. W&J ? A pair of Hi Hoods to...

Re: Penn-Central Heritage unit through the Fort

My question, which seems more likely to you, that the mixed freight spotted in Lewistown continued on thru Fort Wayne (by what routing?)...or that the Pennsylvania freight did terminate at some interim point and the Heritage unit was put back in service in time to make Fort Wayne within 21 hours of...

A turned switch point threw the tender's trucks off the rails, breaking the coupling between the tender and the engine...

Maybe they will put in some benches and a $300,000 statue, and designate the Hadley roundabout as a "railfan park".
Considering the train count that goes through there, that seems so "Fort Wayne"

Re: Ft Wayne Bass & Hadley Roundabout

Be almost comical to present a proposal that the railroad intends adding the 2nd main later this year.. And yes someone spent a lot of unnecessary taxpayer money.. Many people despise roundabouts.. Other than taking up more land there a great traffic control improvement..

Re: Wabash Indiana

I also understand a clearance project there has been discussed, but due to the rather stiff grade there, simply undercutting would be problematic, which would leave raising the Wabash line, ...
