Re: When film was king.

With film there was "an art" to getting the shot. After a few disappointment, you learned to look at other things beyond the viewfinder. Now just hold down the button and hope for the best in post-processing. One of the reasons I waited until the 2nd or 3rd generation of digital was available...

If that were "official", I'd buy a roll.

Re: Trains seen on NCD!

NS appears to be playing with the schedule again. 282 and 216 used be regular evening/late evening trains on the North End of the NCD. Lately, they have been late morning/noonish trains. 200 has also shifted to roll through before noon moreso than afternoon. With this change traffic has grown. It us...

Re: Progress Rail

197 makes a pick-up most days in Muncie. Is there a northbound equivalent that could have dropped them off? Too bad 313 still doesn't operate.

Re: Richmond Indiana C&O & PRR

That low-bridge was responsible for turning a load of cars into convertables on a C&O train or two.

Re: GR&I 4-4-0 No. 10 Richmond IN

Those pilot truck wheels look very light-weight. I wonder how easily they broke under a pounding (rough track-high speed).

Re: Progress Rail

Last I knew, L69 doesn't go all the way into East Wayne anymore. Yoder is about as far North as the Muncie-based crews get regularly. Maybe it will be a "special trip."

Re: NS CP names

Yorkpoint was named for Jeff York, an NS brakeman who was killed when he was hit by a truck while riding the side of a car in the Red Gold plant at Elwood. This happened in 2004: https://www.nwitimes.com/news/railroad-worker-crushed-in-elwood-truck-train-collision/article_8439a9de-76e2-5952-9a95-0a...

That truck can only fill one locomotive and maybe a little in a second. Hope all three weren't thirsty.

Re: NS CP names

Just a WAG: The CP names of Wells, Blackford, Delaware, and Preble are because they are in/near the center of those counties. Market is the name of a street (take your pick) in Kingsland near the old E Kingsland CP. Salamonie is the river a mile or so from the old W Montpelier CP. Going out on a lim...

NS CP names

It seems NS is slowly rolling out new station names for their Control Points. It appears they are eliminating the East XX West XX name for the ends of passing sidings. For example, East and West Kingsland on the New Castle District are now Market and Wells. East and West New Haven siding is now Boyl...

RDCs were definitely round-house-queens, but I was referring to the partial PA nose frankensteined on one end.
