Re: NS CP names

Chicago Line files are in the ATCSgroup files.

Here are the Chicago District renames.

They aren't changing the Marion District numbered CP names.

Re: NS CP names

Ehh NS is weird. The divisions are like little fiefdoms. When they axed the division that covered the north end of the former southern, some of those management people got in on the lake. Dearborn is 100% former Conrail guys. NS lets a lot of stuff slide. Like those signs. Dearborne never stopped us...

Re: NS CP names

Hah wait until you see some of the OFF THE WALL names they used for the Huntington and Chicago district. Apparently the guy in question saw things like East North Findlay and West North Findlay. Or East and West South Whitley. Then noticed you had in places THREE names shared. Ether with the lap sid...

Re: NS Chicago District

Heads up for the Fort Wayne folks.

HADLEY IS DEAD.

This morning Hadley was taken OFF air, And the two NEW CPs were turned on.

So the locals might want to wander out there and see whats going on.

Re: NS CP names

For those of us not in th eknow, what constitutes "Southern Railway practice?" Giving control points names that don't mean anything? No, not having East and West stations sharing the same name is SRR practice. The name picking process is HUGEly political. Many of the early ones were named after peo...

Re: NS CP names

Here are the Chicago and Fostoria districts.

Still need new names for Chicago and and Huntington districts.
Rumor is that a former southern guy got in a position of power in the Lake Division and is pushing the change. The names follow "Southern RR" practice.

Re: NS Chicago District

Thank you very much! If I had to guess. it looks like they will activate the new double crossovers first, Then they can yank out the existing hadley and work on the double track. Curious the signal head replacement at the Dunfees, they didn't replace the interlocking machines as the ATCS bit pattern...

Re: NS Chicago District

New signal tower appeared at Thomas Rd grade crossing. RD Not surprising. Even though those are relatively new signals. They have been found to have a critical defect. These used a cable system to crank up and down the heads. The maintainer would keep a drill like device which would insert in a hol...

Re: Roll Call

I am still here.

Server Op and ATCS Coordinator for the lines that radiate out of Fort Wayne. With a TON of help from the Eastern Indiana ATCS Squirrels of course.

I come here to get wind of any signal work that might affect the ATCS files.
