A dark dreary day but I went for the Up 1943 locomotive anyway. CSX Q131-28, Muncie In. 3:51 pm 12-28-2020. UP1943-UP 7024.

Beautiful photo. In Jan. 1973 I caught 5 of the FM H 12-44 going to scrap. They were west bound from Brewster to Frankfort In. Good to see the 2149 escape to be around a little longer.

N&W 2142 H-12-44 Canton Oh 7-26-1972. I never saw any of these in Ft Wayne or Muncie but I understand they were around in the 1950's. I loved to hear them throttle up. jett

DL I think the switcher you mentioned was the N&W 2106 a SW 1 . It was Blue for many years before getting the Black with huge block NW.

If by chance you go by way of Cowan Rd. in Muncie PRMC has several Tier 4 units sitting out close enough to photograph.

Yard jobs at Muncie East yards have been going to Vernon siding and sitting out/picking up cars for Elk hart. Possibly they went that way by 142 or 174..

12-12-2019 NS L69 may be bringing 5 NS DC to AC conversion SD70Acc to New Haven. I saw NS 1841-1840-1836-1839-1842 sitting in Muncie East yards. L 82 pulled them from PRMC.
