Re: NS Chicago District

Went out tonight and there was a lot of work going on. I was going to walk up to the Scott Rd. crossing (road is closed) to take pictures, but a Ft. Wayne police officer was sitting at the crossing. The second intermediate signal was up between Scott and W. Hamilton Roads. They were working on the n...

I'm having problems, also, but I dunno if it is because of the new Windows Media Player 11. It was fine on WMP 10. Didn't think I need a new codec or anything.

I think those blades are located on County Road 1200 S, south of Romney. (Greg, correct me if I'm wrong) I believe there is a small train museum just south of there in the town of Linden. There used to be another line that ran East/West and crossed the Monon line there; no idea what line that was. N...

Those pictures of the CSX train and semaphores bring back memories of going to Purdue. I was part of the Railroad Club there, and we definitely spent a lot of time around those areas and others. Another thanks for those pics.

Activity at NE

Does anyone have any info about what was going on at NE interlocking around noon today? I was driving through there and as I turned off Lincoln Highway onto Hartzell, both crossing signals were activated on the Chicago and Huntington crossings, but no trains and a ton of NS crews working on/around t...

stash of crossing signals

I was roaming through on Nelson Rd earlier this evening and noticed on the northeast side of the Industrial Track crossing are a few pairs of crossing signals laying around. Anyone have an idea of where these might be placed? Or are they there waiting to be moved somewhere else? If they stayed in th...

i drove across the crossing this evening, and the overhead flashers were lying on the sides of the road. the signals in the median didn't have the gates attached either. and as Hotbox said previously, bags are covering the new flashers.

count me in... as far as where, when, food, etc., doesn't matter to me. catered food sounds good, and i would definitely be up to paying to cover costs of anything.
