Re: Garrett Building Demolition
@ jeff jones. the concrete that you mentioned is the remains of the coal dock and ash pit. if you drive down the alley north of there, you can also see where the water pumps for the operation are still in the ground. (Basically rusty 8-10" pipe sticking out)

Re: 765's Schedule to C.V.L.
Kelly- it was wrong of me to 'bust your balls', and I really did not intend to do so. I am sorry for my rant. I guess that you and the group are trying very hard to promote the 765. It is a cool piece and great that it is in operation. I was a member when 'nothing' was going on, no plans, no contact...

Re: 765's Schedule to C.V.L.
Once again, I see how 'they' will do everything to kiss NS's butt, but could not care less about the 'locals' that helped to support and refit this loco. Great timing and business plan too  FWRHS might as well leave the loco somewhere where it can be run, if all the they can do is fire it up o...

8) Don't understand why SDI is not using more railcars in Butler, since they make rail in the C.C. plant??? OH WELL!!! The CC mill can make rail in addition to wide flange beams. There has to be an order for either to be produced. Railroads have always been notorious for being 'cheap', and d...

Re: Garrett S1 scrapped
back in march I saw a guy inside the fence with 2 5 gallon (blue) diesel fuel cans. There were some batteries, tools, and jumper cables lying about also. It looked to me as if he was trying to get it started. I was hoping/wondering if anyone from here knew the guy. Anyways, I had heard in the past t...

Garrett S1 scrapped
I am surprised that there was no mention of this. Last monday, the 3rd , I was passing thru garrett, and the engine was almost all cut up. the prime mover was set aside, but looked to have had all of its' inspection plates removed. only the deck and below was left, and this was around 11 am. there w...

Re: LSMS
Thanks Craig, always good to hear from you. I never did know that the line was really never owned by anyone else (NYC for example) in more modern times. Rieke and Alcoa (formerly Ramco) are the only 2 businesses still served. And I keep forgetting that the used car lot/lumberyard/whatever else is ha...

The Lake shore and Michigan Southern that passed thru Auburn had a small depot on "Lakeshore drive" near auburn Junction. In later years this line was controlled by the NYC. "Where" did the engines/crews that serviced Auburn industries originate from? Also, where did this line run "From" and "to"?? ...

Re: NYC wreck 1968
I "think" Penn-Central was formed in jan of 1968. his event happened in june. Ironically it is a great shot to see both a "penn" and a"Central" in their own paint. I did some research, and both of these engines lived on into conrail years, were listed on the roster in 1976. A new E7 and E8 combo. Re...
